about

Hi, I'm Chris and I'm an artist and arts producer living and working in Gateshead, primarily in Dunston and Teams. I love making things big and small, and sharing the joy of creation with other people. My work centres around new experiences, empowering people young and old, increasing confidence, and most of all, fostering a lifelong love of the arts.

My primary practice is in sculpture where I specialise in building the weird and wonderful from everyday materials including recycled and 'junk' materials. You can hire me for just about anything art related, but I have previous experience in a huge variety of practices including...

Cardboard and junk sculpture, ceramics, stop-motion animation, traditional illustration, drawing, and painting, silkscreen and relief printmaking, textile crafts and sewing, leather working, wood working, metal working, fibreglass and resins, fore edge illustration and gilding.

I manage participatory arts projects ranging from one-day workshops to funded long-term programmes and have considerable experience managing staff, contractors, buildings, and budgets. If you are interested in starting a project that would need external funding I am quite happy to support your organisation through that process.

My work in the arts lead me into becoming a community organiser. I am proud to have helped establish 2 charities, plant a local community orchard, and act as a local representative for Cycling Uk's Cycle Advocacy Network.

I am very proud to have worked with or been funded by the following organisations in my career:
